I pen down the wonderful experiences, beautiful feelings and stunning views of some of the places we both have traveled to. Some journeys are difficult. Some journeys are interesting. Whatever, we will capture and preserve as much footage as possible. Sometimes we can’t even picture it. I have recorded the scenes that could not be captured in the camera, through the eyes and saved as memories and have also given them soul by my writings.

He loves to visit beautiful places. If someone asks him which places and in which countries are the most beautiful, he will surely have a long list. He keeps a list of where he wants to go. He is the one who thinks that it is worth traveling any distance to see a beautiful place. But I used to be completely different from him. I am the one who thinks how someone can enjoy a beautiful view after walking a long distance and getting tired. I love to write poems and stories while sitting and enjoying the fresh air in any nearby park or lakeshore.

In the early days I started traveling with him for him. Today I have become like him. Gone are the days when only he planned where to go and today we both plan where to go, when to go and how many days to go. I sometimes recite poems or write a brief description of the scenes and read them to him while he drives the car. He also listens to what I read without getting bored and sometimes he also gives corrections. There were moments when the mind blew away by any breathtaking scenery and there were moments I forgot to pen down the feelings in the interest of talking with him.

எழில் கொஞ்சும் இடங்களை சுற்றிப் பார்ப்பது என்றால் அவனுக்கு கொள்ளைப்பிரியம். எந்தெந்த நாடுகளில் எந்தெந்த இடங்கள் அழகாய் இருக்கும் என்று அவனிடம் கேட்டால் நிச்சயம் ஒரு பெரிய பட்டியல் வைத்திருப்பான். எங்கெல்லாம் போக ஆசையென்றும் ஒரு பட்டியல் வைத்திருப்பான். ஓர் அழகான இடத்தைப் பார்க்க எத்தனை தூரம் பயணித்தாலும் தகும் என்று நினைப்பவன் அவன். ஆனால் நான் அவனுக்கு முற்றிலும் மாறுபட்டவளாய் இருந்தேன். வெகுதூரம் நடந்து களைத்து பின் ஓர் அழகான காட்சியை எப்படி ரசிக்க முடியும் என்று யோசிப்பவள் நான். பக்கத்தில் இருக்கும் ஏதேனும் ஒரு பூங்காவிலோ ஏரிக்கரையிலோ காற்று வாங்கிக் கொண்டு கவிதைகள் கதைகள் என்று எழுத விரும்புபவள்.

ஆரம்ப காலங்களில் அவனுக்காக அவனோடு பயணங்கள் சென்ற நான் இன்று அவனைப் போலவே மாறிவிட்டேன். எங்கே செல்லலாம் என்று அவன் மட்டுமே திட்டமிட்ட நாட்கள் மறைந்து இன்று எங்கே செல்லலாம் எப்போது செல்லலாம் எத்தனை நாட்கள் செல்லலாம் என்று இருவருமே திட்டமிட்டு அதன்படி செல்கிறோம். பயணங்களின் போது நான் சில நேரங்களில் கவிதைகளும் சொல்வேன். காணும் காட்சிகளைப் பற்றியும் சுருக்கமாய் எழுதி அவனிடம் படித்தும் காட்டுவேன். அவனும் நான் படித்துக் காட்டுவதை சலிக்காமல் கேட்டுக் கொள்வான். சில சமயங்களில் திருத்தங்களும் சொல்வான். சில சமயம் புத்தகம் பேனாவிற்கு வேலையிருக்காது. ஏதேனும் கண்மயக்கும் இயற்கைக் காட்சிகளில் மனம் சென்றுவிடும். அதன் அழகினை பற்றி பேசிக் கொண்டே செல்வோம்.

நாங்கள் இருவரும் பயணித்த சில இடங்களின் அற்புதமான அனுபவங்கள் மற்றும் பிரமிக்க வைத்த காட்சிகள் என பலவற்றை எழுதுகிறேன். சில பயணங்கள் கடினமானவை. சில பயணங்கள் சுவாரசியமானவை. எப்படி இருந்தாலும் முடிந்தவரை அக்காட்சிகளை நாங்கள் படம்பிடித்து பத்திரப்படுத்தி வைத்துக் கொள்வோம். சில சமயம் எங்களால் படம்பிடிக்க முடியாமலும் போகும். அப்படி கேமெராவில் படம்பிடிக்க முடியாமல் போன காட்சிகளை கண்களின் வழியே நினைவுகளாய் பதிவு செய்து இங்கு எழுத்து உருவமும் கொடுத்துள்ளேன்.
